DAY 6 – Soup or Shake Day – Friday 13th October 2006
I did not go to bed until 1:15 a.m. in the morning, and I am a little tired today. I was on my laptop updating this Blog, checking emails, and trying to update my website. I really need to find the happy medium between my job and home life. I love surfing the Internet and working on my Blog and website, but it is so time consuming. If I don’t try to at least spend a few hours every night, I will always be behind the eight ball. Oh, I’m sorry, I am digressing. I am supposed to be writing about my cleansing, not about my time management or lack there of.
As I was saying before, I woke up feeling a little tired today due to lack of sleep. I brought a bunch of bananas and I was going to have one with my shake for breakfast. Instead I had the shake, an accelerator capsule and 1 apple. I love that the shake really fills me up. Another positive about this is the amount of money I am saving each week. Every morning on my way to work, I used to stop off at my favorite restaurant and buy a fresh fruit salad which cost $5. That’s $25 a week I would spend on fruit salad alone, not to mention, the grapes, apples and bananas I would also buy. If I continue drinking the shake for breakfast, (and I know I will) I will be saving $100 a month, which adds up to $1,200 a year! That’s money staying in my bank account. $1,200 might not seem like a lot to some people, but if you multiply that by 4 years at least, which is how long I have been buying fruit salad for breakfast, well, need I say more?
If my coach Shar reads what I had for lunch and I know she will, (because I will be sending her a link), she will kill me!! Sorry Shar, today’s menu at the cafeteria was not a good one, but it is pouring with rain outside with the occasional thunder and lightning, so you know I am not stepping foot outside.
Today’s menu at our staff cafeteria was:-
Spaghetti
Meatballs in Tomato Sauce
Peas & Carrots
Roast Beef
Pizza – Pepperoni, Mexican, Hawaiian, Vegetarian, Spicy Chicken
Salads
Soups
My lunch consisted of tossed salad, beets, 2 slices of pizza and a few slices of roast beef. I know such a terrible food selection. Shar, I know you have a way of turning anyone’s negative setback into a positive, but I can’t see how you are going to try to make me feel good about eating this!
The only good thing about this lunch was the accelerator capsule I had and the water I am drinking to try to flush this out!
My supper consisted of a lean shake, lots of water and 2 Isagenix snacks. I know this will satisfy my hunger as I will be spending the next few hours updating my website and answering emails.
Tomorrow will be another challenging day for me. I have a personal weight training session at the gym. Although it's only for an half hour, it feels like eternity. My trainer is very tough and he 'takes no prisoners'
The hardest part for me tomorrow will be surviving on a shake for breakfast and having enough fuel in my system before my training starts at 1:30 p.m. I am going to make sure I have a decent lunch, but not so much where I might get sick. I can't let that happen.
Come back tomorrow, and I will let you know what happened.
Here's the website for Magnum's Power Force Gym in Bermuda which I have been a member for the past 7 years. If you ever plan a trip to Bermuda, and would like to work out on a day pass, you might want to check this gym out.
